The technological transformation

Plastic technology is a relatively new material technology. It has only been known for a few decades, and the development potential is nowhere near exhausted.

Until a few years ago, only the manufacture of bins with fossil-based raw materials was possible. An increasing awareness of the sustainable use of resources resulted in an investment in the research of biological plastics. Sugar cane stands out as the ideal supplier of ethanol. This replaces crude oil as the base material and is processed into PEHD.

Not every type of PEHD is suitable for the manufacture of refuse bins. Extensive development processes and material tests were required to find the ideal biologically-based material. The 100% GreenMade HDPE type selected by SULOR has exactly the same technical properties as fossil fuelbased HDPE. The bins made of this material, which are ready for series production, were subjected to the strict testing procedures of RAL GZ 951 and EN 840. No deviations in quality were ascertained compared to petroleum-based bins. All 100% GreenMade bins correspond to RAL and

Material

Sugar cane farming
